I know I am 4 years late to the party, but great video. It was very helpful. Thank you very much!
Thanks
Its is such a shame that these guns keep getting out of their safely stored areas, loading themselves and killing people, YOU don't need locks you need responsible gun ownership and some adults in the room
👍
Wonderful.
Thank you! My extractor flew off into the nether. Lost. Emailed S&W and they sent a replacement.
👍
Thanks for the video.

Great looking pistol. I’m considering this vs an Sig 1911 Nitron. Going back and forth.
😎
Thank you for doing this. I will be attempting to swap the internal parts between P99 / SW99 housings this weekend. Great tips with the Q-Tip and the other helper pin.
I am glad if my video is helpful .
Uh yeah, the Hillary hole is a no go. Buy a vintage revolver for real Smith and Wesson quality.
This video was super helpful!

You make it look easy enough to try. Nice video.

If necessary, can you buy a new cylinder for the revolver and put it in an existing gun and make it work???
yes if it is the same cylinder you buy
Sir you didnot show if the revolver is functioning correctly 🎯
I forgot, old video 🤨
Thank bro your viedo very clear
👍
That was a lifesaver. I can take anything apart...but getting it back together often leaves me with 'spare parts'. My GP100 cylinder was not rotating freely. Today I broke the gun down far enough to get the cylinder apart. Cleaned it all up and dabbed with superfine graphite in an ethyl alcohol suspension. Couldn't remember the orientation of that little bit that rides on a plunger in the crane/yoke assembly. You set me to rights. I subscribed!
I am glad if my video is helpful .
Wonderful video, thank you!

Thanks and Blessings! I like the idea of using the rubber hose material, but I worry about the possibility of over tightening the extractor rod. Great video.
the extractor rod most be tight or the cylinder will not lock, it will be good if you use your hand to tight hard.
@@MikeJack I used the hose method with pliers. Firm but not over tight. Thanks and Blessings!
Just a fantastic video! I was afraid to field strip, but you’ve made it clear.
Thanks
Thank u
👍
Great video. One question though. Should thread locker Loctite Blue be used on the cylinder screw?
I have never Loctite this screw and mine is always tight, a small drop will be okay.
whats up with the little spring on top? How do you take that off?

Hello, great video. I have the same X5 as you. I would like to replace the extractor because I sometimes have jams. Do you think the new US X5 puller is compatible with the German X5? THANKS. JP
No, it cannot be used in a German p226 X five, The US P226 X5 have a outside and the German have a indside extractor, I was told when sig sauer closed in Germany they stopped making the indside extractor, it may be found at a gun shop in Europe, it is a problem, you can try writing to US Sig Sauer and asking what owners with a German P226 X5-6 should do when theirs extractor breaks, I will like to hear Sig Sauer's answer. Good luck.
Nice video, what model number are those sights?
LPA sights SPS17SS6F

Hi Mike i’m having problems with my 686 with opening the cylinder when I push the release button it will not release and I have to turn it on its side and hit the cylinder with my hand to knock it free Any suggestions would be much appreciated thank you Love your video
I think the extractor rod is too loose and needs to be tightened more, as I do in the video.
Excellent video! Thank you for putting this together!

Good morning sir. Thank you for this clear and concise video. Very helpful.
I am glad that my video is helpful to you.
G'day from downunder Mike. After 5000 rds thought mine could do with a thorough clean. Followed a book for the disassembly - no dramas but during reassembly hit some hurdles. On to YT and watched a number of clips on reassembly - or should I say 'started' to watch as they either glossed over critical areas or 'attacked' them with a larger hammer! I found your clip and reckon it's the duck's guts on this subject. I particularly liked your sequence that was quite different from the book and makes more sense and also makes some of the tricky areas a damn sight easier. Many thanks from a new subscriber🤠
I am glad that my video is helpful to you.
Great video 👍

Gonna have to do a twigga job on mine now lol

Thanks very much for your excellent video!! Your meticulous instruction and occasional tips eliminated my fear of disassembling and reassembling my Smith & Wesson 626 .357 Magnum and Smith & Wesson 629 .44 Magnum Revolvers. They do need a thorough cleaning every 500-1,000 rounds. Thanks again!!
